Season Highlights
Resolute Keldeo Season-Long Special Research
Behold Keldeo in its Resolute Form! For the first time in Pokémon GO, Keldeo will be ableo transform into its Resolute Form after a season-long journey at your side! Encounter Keldeo as you begin your adventure along a new seasonal Special Research!
Trainers who have already caught Keldeo can continue their journey with it and receive Keldeo Candy that they can use to power up.
The Tales of Transformation Special Research will be available to claim from Tuesday, September 2, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 9:59 a.m. local time.
New parts of the Special Research will unlock over the course of the Season, so make sure to keep an eye on your research tab.
New Mega Evolution Debuts!
Behold the Mega debuts of Sharpedo, Camerupt, and Metagross in Pokémon GO!
Challenge them on Mega Raid Days throughout the season, and bear witness to the transformative power of Mega Evolution. This leaves only Mega Mewtwo X and Y without a release date of the currently available Mega Evolutions (until the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A which brings a host of new Mega Pokémon!)
Dipplin and Hydrapple debut in Pokémon GO!
Meet new evolutions this season! Dipplin, Hydrapple and more debut in the coming months. Dipplin is a new evolution for Applin, and it can then evolve into Hydrapple.

Beware of heightened Team GO Rocket activity during Tales of Transformation! Shadow Groudon will make an earth-shaking debut in Shadow Raids, and more Shadow Pokémon are sure to accompany Giovanni’s return this season.

Trainers level 31 and above will receive one guaranteed Candy XL when trading Pokémon, and one guaranteed Rare Candy XL when catching a five-star Raid Boss during a Raid Hour -

A note on Seasonal Field Research tasks
During the Season of Tales of Transformation, most Field Research tasks will be available during the entire Season, instead of changing every month. Field Research tasks that award an encounter with Spinda will still rotate monthly. Field Research available during in-game events will replace some of these Field Research tasks.
Tickets, Tour Pass and More!
GO Pass
The GO Pass, a limited-time progression track, will be available globally during Tales of Transformation! Complete Pass Tasks to earn GO Points to increase your rank and earn rewards.
The GO Pass Deluxe, a paid version of GO Pass, will be available for Trainers looking for upgraded rewards and faster progression.
Leveling Up Journey – Level Cap Increase
Pokémon GO’s leveling up journey is being rebalanced to add more to the experience! On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, Pokémon GO will release an update that increases the level cap from 50 to 80.
This update will make the leveling journey more fun and engaging by celebrating leveling milestones with new rewards, new cosmetics, and more. And with this update, some trainers can expect to jump in level based on their total earned XP. But don’t worry, no trainer will go down in level!
XP Celebration Event

From August 25 at 1:00 p.m. PDT until October 14, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. local time, all Trainers will get the following bonuses. These bonuses will stack with other event bonuses:

2× Catch XP from Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws -
An additional 3,000 XP from winning raids -
3,000 XP from winning Max Battles
Additionally, Timed Research will be available for all Trainers over level 5. This expansive research awards over 7 million XP.
Weekly Challenges
This Season, a new way to connect and earn rewards is coming: weekly challenges! This social feature allows you to team up with up to three other Trainers to take on a group challenge each week.
Complete the challenge to earn rewards and XP while growing your Friendship level. You can start a group with Trainers on your Friend List, no matter where they are, or get matched with other Trainers from around the world as a new way to discover friends.
