Origin Palkia

Origin Forme Palkia is a special form of the Legendary Pokémon Palkia, first discovered in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and they made their debut during the Sinnoh Tour 2024. It can be shiny!

Origin Forme Palkia is a Water and Dragon type Pokémon, being only weak to the Dragon and Fairy types. Origin Forme Palkia can be caught in the following CP values:

• 2274 CP – 2367 CP (no weather boost, LVL 20)
• 2843 CP – 2958 CP (Windy or Rainy weather, LVL 25)

Best Origin Forme Palkia Counters

We recommend fighting Origin Forme Palkia with a minimum of 4 Trainers with perfect counters, or 6+ Trainers with suboptimal counters. Its stamina stat is the weakest (189) of the three stats, so it’s an easy win with great counters. Use Party! Power to boost your attackers even more.

How to use your newly caught Origin Forme Palkia?

Dialga is a Water and Dragon-type Pokémon, which makes it resist Fire, Water, and Steel-type attacks. Palkia is an incredible Raid Attacker, due to its massive max CP, good choice of attacks, and impressive bulk that can shatter even the most notorious raid bosses. Palkia is a popular choice against Mega Charizard, Dragonite, Groudon and more

As a Raid Attacker

Palkia and Origin Forme Palkia are true monsters in Raids, and they offer an insane amount of damage without requiring any Mega evolution gimmicks. Origin Forme Palkia is one of the top 5 Dragon-type attackers in Pokémon GO.

Although Origin Forme Palkia is overshadowed by Mega Rayquaza, Mega Garchomp, and Mega Salamence, it is the best non-Mega Dragon type in the game. It needs Spacial Rend, but it is a monster in its own right. Definitely worth using and powering up!

In the GO Battle League

While Palkia’s high CP disqualifies it from the Great and Ultra Leagues, it finds its true strength in the Master League. Palkia is unexpectedly bulky, and a wide pool of Charged Attacks makes it a formidable opponent.

Palkia is only vulnerable to two types of attacks – Dragon and Fairy – but unfortunately, both are quite common in the Master League. That doesn’t mean Palkia is bad in the Master League, but you do have to work around this.

Do note that Dialga doesn’t have this typing problem!

Get a second move

Origin Forme Palkia’s strength lies with its moves, especially in the GO Battle League. With that being said, we strongly encourage you to pick up a second charge move. 

• Aqua Tail, a Charged Attack of Palkia, may not be the most damaging but serves well in depleting opponents’ Protect Shields efficiently due to its low energy requirement.
• Adding a second Charged Attack, like Draco Meteor, empowers Palkia with a devastating blow that leverages its same-type attack bonus
• Palkia has not been a strong contender in the Master League up to this point, but Origin Forme Palkia may be more powerful with Spacial Rend as one of its Charged Attacks, as opposed to Draco Meteor.

Origin Forme Palkia: Stats and Moveset

Be aware, Origin Forme Palkia can have a full Dragon type moveset. In this case, we recommend a team full of Fairy, that resists heavily against that moveset in particular.

If dragons are recommended, then it probably has Aqua Tail, Fire Blast or Hydro Pump as charge attack. So, in this case, long live the dragon supremacy.

If you can, go for it. Origin Forme Palkia can be an interesting Pokémon. As well as being useful in raids, some Origin Forme Palkia may know Spacial Rend, a move that unlocks a special feature in the overworld, expanding the radius in which Pokémon can appear and be caught.
