How to use Origin Forme Dialga?
Dialga is a Steel– and Dragon-type Pokémon, which gives it an advantage against Dragon, Ice, and Rock types, making it a prime pick for five-star Raids. A key advantage is its resistance to Fairy-type moves, often deadly to Dragons, positioning Dialga as a strong contender with minimal weaknesses.
A monster in Master League and a great Raid Attacker
Where Dialga really shines is in the Master League, where Dialga and Origin Forme Dialga are incredibly valuable additions. Strong against many Pokémon that are popular in the Master League (Gyarados, Dragonite, Lugia, Mewtwo, Giratina), Origin Forme Dialga and regular Dialga are powerhouses in ML.
Like we said, unlike most Dragon-types, Dialga is unaffected by Fairy weaknesses, armed with a potent Dragon-type Fast Attack, Dragon Breath, and versatile Charged Attacks like Draco Meteor, Iron Head, and Thunder. These moves make it versatile against a broad range of adversaries in the league.
Get a second move
We strongly believe that Origin Forme Dialga needs a second move to be as effective as it can be. Choosing the right second Charged Attack for Dialga hinges on your team’s needs:
- Thunder counters Kyogre, while Iron Head offers protection against Fairy-types.
- Draco Meteor remains a reliable choice for widespread effectiveness.
- Roar of Time is a stronger Charged Attack than Draco Meteor and doesn’t lower Origin Forme Dialga’s Attack, making it a better option all around, so keep that if you get it.
All in all – Origin Forme Dialga is a must have for Master League, and an amazing Raid Counter for many bosses. However… maximizing Dialga’s potential involves a hefty investment in Candy and Stardust, so try to get as many Dialgas as possible, with the aid of Silver Pinap Berries if possible.

Parting Words
If you can, go for it. Origin Forme Dialga can be an interesting Pokémon. As well as being useful in raids, some Origin Forme Dialga may know Roar of Time, a move that unlocks a special feature in the overworld, pausing the effects of Incense, Lucky Eggs, and Star Pieces!
