Pokémon GO Events This Week: January 12 to January 18, 2026
Pokémon GO’s January 12 to January 18 week has us firmly into the new year, and in the season of Precious Paths! Meet Wattrel in the High Voltage event whilst hunt for shiny Tadbulb, and enjoy the start of the Galar First Partner Pokémon getting their Community Day events, with Grookey!
Plus the weekly rotating Spotlight and Raid Hours, Dynamax Battles and Mega Raids.
Highlights
- Raid Boss Change (January 16): Incarnate Thundurus and Mega Sceptile return to the raid pool.
- Max Monday (January 12): Dynamax Caterpie is featured in Max Battles from 6 PM to 7 PM.
- Spotlight Hour (January 13): Mareep is featured with 2x XP for evolving Pokémon
- Raid Hour (January 7): Genesect Burn and Chill Drive is featured in Five-Star Raids from 6 PM to 7 PM.
- High Voltage (January 13-18): Wattrel debuts, shiny Tadbulb is released, plus global challenges!
- Grookey Community Day (January 18): Shiny Grookey debuts with boosted shiny odds, and evolve Thwackey into Rillaboomf for the exclusive Grass type Charged Attack Frenzy Plant.
Weekly Pokémon GO Schedule
Max Monday: Dynamax Caterpie
On Monday, January 12th, from 6 PM to 7 PM local time, Dynamax Caterpie will appear in Max Battles! Dynamax Caterpie will continue to appear from January 12 to 18 in Max Battles.
Spotlight Hour: Mareep
2x Evolution XP
On Tuesday, January 13th, from 6 PM to 7 PM local time, Mareep will be the featured Pokémon for Spotlight Hour, along with 2× XP for evolving Pokémon.
Raid Hour: Burn and Chill Drive Genesect
On Wednesday, January 7th, from 6 PM to 7 PM local time, Genesect in Burn and Chill Drive forms will be the featured Pokémon for Raid Hour!

Grookey Community Day
The first Community Day of 2026 stars Grookey, the Chimp Pokémon! Join the event on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time to enjoy 3× Catch Stardust, increased Grookey spawns, and a chance to encounter Shiny Grookey.
Evolve Thwackey during the event—or up to four hours afterwards—to obtain Rillaboom with the exclusive Charged Attack Frenzy Plant Grass.
Raids
Five-Star Raids
From January 5 to January 16 Genesect Burn and Chill Drive will appear in Five-Star Raids.

GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe
Pokémon GO’s January 2026 GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe feature exclusive rewards, including an encounter with Dialga, XP and Stardust bonuses, and the return of the Lucky Trinket! Trainers will automatically receive GO Pass: January on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m

GO Battle League: Precious Paths begins Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8).
