Gothita Spotlight Hour (September 2025): Last Minute Guide
Pokémon Spotlight Hour will feature a different Pokémon and a special bonus for one hour at 6:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday during the month of September. Gothita Spotlight Hour takes place on September 16th, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm local time, with a bonus of 2x XP for catching Pokémon.
This Spotlight Hour is the third September 2025 Pokémon spotlight.
Trainers who plan to participate should be prepared with a Mega Pokémon to maximise candy gains per Pokémon caught. Here’s everything you need to know!

Note on XP Bonus
If you do not want to catch the featured Pokémon, you can make use of the 2x catch XP bonus by catching any saved Scatterbug, or opening a Mystery Box or Coin Bag! Remember to stack 2 Lucky Eggs if you’re out for the duration of Spotlight Hour, or make use of Roar of Time to pause your timers.
Gothita is a Psychic-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO. As a Psychic-type Pokémon, Gothita is weak to Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type moves.
Gothita’s maximum Combat Power stat is 1075 CP, and its best Pokémon GO moves are Pound and Psychic. Gothita encounters are boosted during Windy weather. Shiny Gothita is available!

Shiny Gothita is very subtle – look out for the lilac colour turning more pink, or the changing eye colour. There are no gender differences to look out for.

A Note on Mega Catch Bonus
While a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it.
PVP
Great League
Gothitelle does not perform particularly well in any of the three main leagues. This is because Gothitelle has middle-of-the-road stats, not favoring either high attack or high defense to rely on. It has heavy damage-dealing but low energy-generating fast attacks with long animation times, yet no spammy charged attacks to go along with them.
PVE
Raids
Gothitelle is a Psychic-type Pokémon and the final stage of a three-stage evolutionary line. Despite this, Gothitelle does not perform particularly well when compared to many other Psychic-type alternatives. As such, it is difficult to recommend Gothitelle as a raid attacker.
