Pokémon GO Events This Week (15-21 September 2025)
Pokémon GO’s September 15 to September 21 schedule brings the first full week of the Tales of Transformation season! Enjoy the Psychic Spectacular: Taken over, Shadow Groudon Raid Weekend and more! Plus weekly Spotlight Hour, daily Raid/ Hours, Dynamax Battles, Mega Raids, GO Battle League Season 24, and Season‑long Tales of Transformation bonuses.
Highlights
- Raid Boss Change (September 16): Mega Gardevoir, Mega Latias, Mega Latios and Mega Gallade return to the raid pool
- Max Monday (September 15): Dynamax Abra is featured in Max Battles from 6 PM to 7 PM.
- Spotlight Hour (September 16): Gothita is featured with a 2x catch XP bonus.
- Raid Hour (September 17): Mega Latias and Mega Latios are featured in Five-Star Raids from 6 PM to 7 PM.
- XP Celebration (August 25-October 14): Boosted XP for nice, great and excellent throws
- Psychic Spectacular: Taken Over (September 16-21): Indeedee debuts and can be shiny, Shadow Incarnate Forme Tornadus debuts, Team GO Rocket feature
- Shadow Groudon Raid Weekend (September 20-21): Shadow Groudon makes their debut in Shadow Raids, and it can be shiny!
Max Monday: Dynamax Abra
On Monday, September 15th, from 6 PM to 7 PM local time, Dynamax Abra will appear in Max Battles! Dynamax Abra will continue to appear from September 15 to September 22 in Max Battles:
Spotlight Hour: Gothita
On Tuesday, September 16th, from 6 PM to 7 PM local time, Gothita will be the featured Pokémon for Spotlight Hour, along with 2× XP for catching Pokémon!
Raid Hour: Mega Latias and Mega Latios
On Wednesday, September 17th, from 6 PM to 7 PM local time, Mega Latias and Mega Latios will be the featured Pokémon for Raid Hour!
Events in Pokémon GO This Week
XP Celebration
With the level cap being increased to level 80 in Pokémon GO, trainers would want to collect massive amounts of XP before the journey beyond level 50 goes live on October 15, 2025. Luckily, you can start doing that right away thanks to the XP Celebration event, which promises huge XP gains and exclusive Timed Research.
Psychic Spectacular: Taken Over
Psychic Spectacular: Taken Over is the latest Team GO Rocket Takeover event that runs from Tuesday, September 16, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. During that time, Trainers will have the opportunity to remove Frustration, save Shadow Incarnate Forme Tornadus, hunt for shiny Indeedee as it makes its debut in Pokémon GO, and face Rocket Grunts and Rocket Leaders who are using new Shadow Pokémon!
Shadow Groudon Raid Weekend
Shadow Groudon features in Pokémon GO during a special Shadow Raid Day event on Saturday, September 20, 2025, and Sunday, September 21, 2025. Trainers can look forward to Shadow Groudon in Shadow Raids for the first time, with the potential to be shiny, and one extra free raid pass per day during event hours.

From September 16th to September 23rd, Mega Gardevoir, Mega Latias, Mega Latios and Mega Gallade will appear in Mega Raids.

One-star and three-star Shadow Raids will be available daily, while five-star Shadow Raids will take place on Saturdays and Sundays unless otherwise noted. Also, Shadow Regigigas will swoop into five-star Shadow Raids during Tales of Transformation! You may even encounter a Shiny Shadow Regigigas—if you’re lucky!
GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe
Pokémon GO’s September 2025 GO Pass runs from Tuesday, September 2nd at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, October 7th at 10:00 a.m. local time. This month’s GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe feature exclusive rewards, including an encounter with Cobalion with a Tales of Transformation background, XP and Stardust bonuses, and the debut of the Timed Incubator—an unlimited-use but time-limited egg incubator available with the GO Pass Deluxe.

GO Battle League Season 24 begins Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7). At launch:
End-of-Season rewards (from the prior season) appear on the Battle screen.
