Shadow Raikou features in Pokémon GO during a special Shadow Raid Day event on Saturday, January 2024, 2026. Trainers can look forward to Shadow Raikou in Shadow Raids, with the potential to be shiny (with boosted odds!), and up to five additional free raid passes for the day.

This is a tricky fight, and Raikou is weak to only Ground types. Shadow Raikou can be caught with the following CP values:
- 1823 – 1972 CP (no weather boost, 100% Raikou at Level 20)
- 2280 – 2466 CP (during Rainy, 100% IV Raikou at Level 25)
