Road to Kalos Event Guide (2026): Raids, Spawns, Special Backgrounds & GO Pass

Road To Kalos is a week long rewind of previous GO Tour events that takes place beofer Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos – Global begins on February 28, 2026. The event celebrates Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova regions, with Legendary Pokémon, previously featured at each GO Tour event, making an reappearance… Could this be the work of the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa?

The following bonuses are active during the Road to Kalos event:

    1/2 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event period.

  • Remote Raid Pass icon

    The Remote Raid Pass limit will be increased to 30 from Monday, February 23 to Friday, February 27, 2026.

    There will be no limit on Remote Raids from Saturday, February 28, to Sunday, March 1, 2026.

Tuesday, February 24: Johto

    • Plus, when you fuse a Zekrom or Reshiram that has a Special Background with a Kyurem that has a Special Background of the opposite color, the fused Black Kyurem or White Kyurem will have its own variant background!

Timed Research

Region-themed Timed Research will be available daily starting at 5:00 a.m. local time. Complete tasks to earn Candy, TMs, other items, and encounters with costumed Pikachu, with new Timed Research released each day. If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!

Note: Pokémon from Timed Research won’t have Special Backgrounds. Timed Research expires daily at 10:00 p.m. local time.

Field Research
Research icon

New Field Research tasks themed around each day’s featured region will be available daily starting at 12:00 a.m. local time. Complete tasks to earn Candy, Candy XL for the day’s featured Raid Bosses, and encounters with costumed Pikachu. If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!

Note: Pokémon from Field Research won’t have Special Backgrounds.


GO Pass: Road to Kalos

The GO Pass is a free, limited-time progression track where you earn rewards by collecting GO Points.

All Trainers will receive GO Pass: Road to Kalos for free on Monday, February 23, at 10:00 a.m. local time. You can earn GO Points and rank up through Sunday, March 1, at 6:00 p.m. local time.

From February 23–27, GO Points are capped daily to give you a head start. On February 28 and March 1, there’s no GO Point limit.

Trainers can upgrade to GO Pass Deluxe: Road to Kalos for US$14.99, or GO Pass Deluxe + 10 Ranks for US$19.99, instantly reaching Rank 11. Deluxe includes all free GO Pass rewards and can be upgraded at any time.
