Pokémon Legends: Z-A Celebration Event
To celebrate the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Pokémon GO is hosting a special limited-time event from October 16, 2025 to October 20, 2025. This guide lists all the bonuses, research, and raids and more you can encounter during the Pokémon Legends: Z-A event in Pokémon GO.

Mega Raids will appear more frequently throughout the event -
Meganium, Feraligatr and Emboar will be able to learn their previous Community Day Charged Attacks
Mega Raids
Mega Raids will be an event focus, which makes sense with Kalos being the birth place of Mega Evolution!
This is a perfect time to farm Mega Energy or pick up a strong Mega that you might have missed. Even if you already have the Mega you want, stocking up on XL Candy is never a bad idea.
Timed Research
This event introduces free, branching Timed Research where Trainers choose between three different paths, based on each of the First Partner (starter) Pokémon featured in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Choose between:
- Chikorita
- Totodile
- Tepig
Complete tasks to earn XP, Candy, a Poffin, and an encounter with your chosen pokemon with a special seasonal background.

The First Partner Pokémon you select will have an increased chance of appearing when using your Daily Adventure Incense
Note on Timed Research
Please note that Timed Research expires. The tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Monday, October 20th, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time..
Featured Attacks
Certain special attacks will be available during the event! All three of the Kalos-celebration partners are getting their signature Community Day moves back for a limited time:
- Evolve Bayleef into a Meganium that knows Charged Move Frenzy Plant
- Evolve Croconaw into a Feraligatr that knows Charged Move Hydro Cannon
- Evolve Pignite into an Emboar that knows Charged Move Blast Burn
You will also be able to use a Charged TM to teach Meganium, Feraligatr and Emboar their featured attacks during the event!
Normally, these moves are locked behind Community Days or Elite TMs, so this is a fantastic opportunity for new players to catch up or for veterans to build extras. If is highly speculated that Meganium, Feraligatr and Emboar are going to get Mega Evolutions with Legends: Z-A
Avatar Items
The fashion game gets a Kalos upgrade! New Lumiose City inspired avatar items will be available for free in the shop, and will continue to be available when the event ends:
- Lumiose City Outfit (Fitted)
- Lumiose City Hat (Black)
- Lumiose City Shoes (Red)
- Lumiose City Outfit (Relaxed)
- Lumiose City Hat (White)
- Lumiose City Shoes (Blue)
