Mega Mewtwo Y is a Psychic type Super Mega Raid boss. Best Mega Mega Mewtwo Y raid counters include powerful Bug, Dark, and Ghost types, with a mixed range of different counters available to help you defeat it.

Mewtwo can be caught with the following CP values:

• From 2294 CP to 2387 CP, with no weather boost
• From 2868 CP to 2984 CP with Windy weather boost

Mega Mewtwo Y Raids require a minimum of 10 Trainers to defeat them, and each trainer will need to have a Mega Pokémon in their team, in their last slot.

Mega Mewtwo Y Counters

Please be aware that you need to have a Mega Pokémon in your party to remove Mega Mewtwo X’s Shields in Super Mega Raids. The Mega Pokémon should be in your last slot, check our tips and tricks section below this table.

How to defeat Mega Mewtwo Y’s shields

During Super Mega Raids, the Mega Pokémon will become enraged, and use shields that dramatically reduce the amount of damage they take. You’ll have to work together to take down these shields, but each Trainer can only take down one shield.

• Once the Mega Pokémon boss activates a shield, a Mega Pokémon from your Raid team will be automatically sent into the battle.
• Your next attack by your Mega Pokémon will be significantly more powerul than usual, allowing you to break down the boss’ shield!

Once you and your fellow Trainers have broken enough shields, the Raid Boss will return to its normal stat, and you will be able to do normal damage again.

How Not to Fail Mega Mewtwo Y Raids

With the new Mega Raid mechanics, coordination matters more than ever. Mega Mewtwo Y isn’t necessarily harder than previous raids, but it does require active participation from everyone in the lobby. Here’s what you need to know:

1. Make Sure Everyone Has a Mega Evolved Pokémon

If your lobby has 10 Trainers, all 10 need to contribute. Before the raid starts, double-check that every player has the Mega symbol active. If even one or two Trainers aren’t running a Mega, you will be stuck with shields.

2. Put Your Mega in the Last Slot

• Your Mega Evolved Pokémon should be placed in the final slot of your battle party, not at the front.
• This ensures you can strategically use its Charged Attack to break shields when needed, rather than getting knocked out!

3. If Your Mega Faints Before Using a Charged Attack Rejoin

If your Mega faints before it gets a Charged Attack off:

• Leave the battle
• Heal your team
• Re-enter the raid

Every Mega Charged Attack counts toward breaking shields.

Mega Mewtwo Y Has 10 Shields

Mega Mewtwo Y starts with 10 shields. Each shield must be broken by a Mega’s Charged Attack, meaning:

• 10 players = 10 Mega Charged Attacks required
• If even 2 Trainers don’t use their Mega attack, you’ll be stuck with shields remaining
• If shields aren’t broken quickly, the raid timer will likely run out
• Do not rely on others to carry the damage. These raids demand participation from everyone.
