Lunala Raid Guide (Best Counters, 100% IVs CPs)

Lunala is a Tier 5 legendary raid boss in Pokémon GO. This is the first time it has been available in raids having previously only been in Special Research. It cannot be shiny.

It can be caught with the following CP values:

2219 – 2310 CP at Level 20, no weather boost
2774 – 2887 CP at Level 25 with Windy or Fog weather boost

Lunala is needed to fuse with Necrozma in order to obtain Dawn Wings Necrozma.

Lunala is a Psychic/Ghost Pokémon so its counters include strong Dark and Ghost types. Note that Lunala is double weak to these types.

With good counters, Lunala can possibly be defeated by 3 trainers. To be safe, 4-6 high-level trainers can get the job done, but less prepared trainers may need to bring a larger squad.

How to get Dawn Wings Necrozma

Dawn Wings Necrozma

Dusk Mane Necrozma can be created by fusing Lunala and Necrozma, using Lunar Fusion Energy. You need the following resources to create a Dawn Wings Necrozma:

30 Cosmog Candy
30 Necrozma Candy
1000 Lunar Fusion Energy

When Necrozma is fused, it keeps all the characteristics, including IVs, from its base form, rather than pooling with Lunala, so you’ll need to get everything you want on Necrozma. Lunala won’t have any bearing on Necrozma’s stats when fused. The same thing applies for Shiny status – shiny Necrozma will result in shiny Dusk Mane Necrozma, with Lunala shiny status having no impact.
