Horsea Spotlight Hour takes place on February 17th, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm local time, with 2× Transfer Candy bonus. Pokémon Spotlight Hour feature a different Pokémon and a special bonus for one hour at 6:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday during the month of February.
This Spotlight Hour is the third Pokémon Spotlight Hour in February 2026. It is especially interesting as you will get 2x Candy on transfer – it’s a great time to have a clear out of your Pokémon storage!

Note on Transfer Bonus
If you do not want to catch the featured Pokémon, you can make use of the 2x Transfer Candy bonus in other ways:
- You can try transferring any saved Scatterbug, opening a Mystery Box or Coin Bag!
- This is a great opportunity to clear out your storage, transfer Legendary Pokémon you have been clinging onto, and rare Pokémon you need more candy for.
- This is your last chance for double transfer candy before GO Tour, so take full advantage!

Horsea is a Water-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO. As a Water-type Pokémon, Horsea is weak to Electric and Grass-type moves.
Horsea’s maximum Combat Power stat is 1194 CP, and its best Pokémon GO moves are Water Gun and Bubble Beam. Horsea encounters are boosted during Rain weather. Shiny Horsea is available!

A Note on Mega Catch Bonus
While a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it.
PVE
Raids
Now that it’s fully evolved, Kingdra begins to make its way onto the list of possible counters for a few raid bosses, though it still falls outside of the top 25. Taking only a third of damage from Fire types, it is best used as a pure Water attacker with the optimal moveset of Waterfall and Hydro Pump. However, it can also serve as a Dragon attacker when equipped with Dragon Breath and Outrage. Despite this versatility, Kingdra is outmatched in both attacking types by numerous Water starters, Mega Pokémon, and Legendary Dragons.
Gyms
Kingdra makes for a considerable defender thanks to its relative bulk and its Water/Dragon typing, which leaves it weak only to Fairy and Dragon type attacks—neither of which are common Gym attackers.
PVP
Little League
Where possible, Kingdra is an out-of-the-box option to consider in Little League, as it is a quick counter for the much more common Greninja, as well as Pangoro and Wobbuffet. However, those winning matchups are outnumbered by those it will lose to, namely Cottonee and Marill. This is partly due to its Dragon-centric moveset for PvP, using Dragon Breath, Outrage, and Octazooka, two of which are heavily resisted by even small Fairy types.
Great League
Taking a huge dive after its limited use in Little League, Kingdra sadly can’t make any waves in the Great League. Outperformed by numerous other Water types like Azumarill and Shadow Feraligatr, it also struggles to compete against decent Dragons such as Goodra and Dragonite.
Ultra League
As the only non-Mega evolved Johto Dragon, it’s unfortunate to say that Kingdra is utterly outclassed in the Ultra League. Its only limited use is as a counter for common Fire types like Talonflame, Skeledirge, and Typhlosion, but there are far more versatile and stronger counters to these threats that provide a greater impact.
Master League
By this level, if you want to continue using a Water/Dragon type, your best bet would be investing in any of the forms of Palkia.
