Pokémon GO Level 1 to 80 Guide – All Level Requirements and Rewards

Let’s face it, reaching Level 80 in Pokémon GO is the ultimate milestone for any Trainer that wants to be the very best. From earning millions of XP to completing difficult research tasks, this guide breaks down everything you need to know to level up from 70 to 80, including XP requirements, task lists, and rewards for each level.

Prepare to take on some of the game’s toughest challenges: powering up Legendary Pokémon, defeating Team GO Rocket Leaders, completing Routes, and winning Raids and Max Battles. Whether you’re pushing for Level 70 or aiming for the coveted Level 80 cap, this guide will help you plan your journey efficiently and stay motivated every step of the way.

    Trainers at level 70 and higher will have an increased chance of becoming Lucky Friends with Trainers that they’ve achieved a Friendship level of Best Friends with.

Level 70 to 80 Requirements and Rewards

To reach Levels 71 to 80, Trainers will need both to earn a certain amount of XP and complete new Level-Up Research tasks at each level. Here is a complete overview of all the level up requirements.

Level 71 requirements

  • Earn 8,000,000 XP
  • Earn 15 platinum medals
  • Power up Legendary or Mythical Pokémon 20 times
  • Make 999 Nice Throws
  • Catch 100 Pokémon in a single day

Level 72 requirements

  • Earn 8,750,000 XP
  • Earn 20 platinum medals
  • Complete a Route 7 days in a row
  • Use 200 supereffective Charged Attacks
  • Earn 1,000,000 Stardust

Level 73 requirements

  • Earn 9,500,000 XP
  • Earn 25 platinum medals
  • Purify 100 Shadow Pokémon
  • Power up 3 Pokémon to their max CP
  • Win 30 Raids

Level 74 requirements

  • Earn 10,250,000 XP
  • Earn 30 platinum medals
  • Level up a Max Move 20 times
  • Explore 200 km
  • Complete 250 Field Research tasks

Level 75 requirements

  • Earn 11,000,000 XP
  • Earn 34 platinum medals
  • Make 999 Great Throws
  • Hatch 75 Eggs
  • Send 500 Gifts to friends

Special Unlocks Per Level

Reaching certain levels in Pokémon GO unlocks new parts of the game, from the ability to hatch Eggs, to battling with other Trainers in the GO Battle League, to Candy XL and the ability to nominate your own PokéStops. The following table shows features and their respective unlock levels.

Daily Adventure Egg

Daily Adventure Egg Pokémon GO

Starting at level 15, Trainers will be able to get a free Daily Adventure Egg to hatch a Pokémon and earn 10,000 XP.

  • When a Trainer logs in to Pokémon GO for the first time on a new day, the Daily Adventure Egg will automatically be placed into its own Incubator.*
  • Trainers can only hold and incubate one Daily Adventure Egg at a time.
  • The Daily Adventure Egg will hatch after exploring a distance of 1 km.**
  • The Daily Adventure Egg will not count towards the Trainer’s current Egg storage.
  • The new Daily Adventure Egg will include First Partner Pokémon from Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue through Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.

* The Incubator for the Daily Adventure Egg can only be used with the Daily Adventure Egg.

** Be sure to have Adventure Sync activated to record your distance walked even when the Pokémon GO app isn’t open!

New Avatar Rewards

Starting at level 25, Trainers will be able to earn a variety of new avatar rewards to customize their look. Trainers can earn these new avatar rewards at the following levels:

  • Level 25: Poké Ball Cap
  • Level 30: Poké Ball Shoes
  • Level 35: Poké Ball Jacket
  • Level 40: Great Ball Cap
  • Level 45: Great Ball Shoes
  • Level 50: Great Ball Jacket
  • Level 55: Ultra Ball Cap
  • Level 60: Ultra Ball Shoes
  • Level 65: Ultra Ball Jacket
  • Level 71: Level 71 Shoes
  • Level 73: Level 73 Shade
  • Level 75: Level 75 Pants
  • Level 77: Level 77 Pose
  • Level 79: Level 79 Hairstyle (Short) and Level 79 Hairstyle (Long)
