Mega Metagross Raid Day (October 2025)
Mega Metagross finally debuts in Pokémon GO during a special Raid Day event on Saturday, October 4th, 2025. Trainers can look forward to an increased chance to encounter shiny Metagross, up to five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs, and a temporarily increased Remote Raid Pass limit.

Featured Pokémon
Mega Metagross will debut in Raids during the event! This is a long awaited release, and will be an incredible addition to your raid squad.
Mega Metagross is weak to Dark Fire Ghost and Ground types, so we advise to focus your counters on them!
Metagross can be caught with the following Combat Power after being defeated in Raids:
- From 2078 CP to 2166 CP, with no weather boost
- From 2598 CP to 2708 CP with Snow and Windy weather boost
Featured Attacks
Metagross encountered in Mega Raids will know the Fast Attack Shadow Claw. After the event Mega Metagross will be able to learn Shadow Claw using an Elite Fast TM.
Shadow Claw is a Ghost type Fast Attack in Pokémon GO.
- In Gym and Raid battles, it deals 6 damage and it generates 4 energy.
- In GO Battle League, Shadow Claw deals 6 damage and generates 8 energy.
Regular and Shiny Comparison
Like all Mega Raid Bosses, you can catch the shiny version of Metagross from a raid, and also in the wild potentially, if you can find it! It is a fantastic silver shiny and gold.

Event Ticket
A Raid Day ticket is available for US$4.99 (or equivalent in your local currency), granting the following bonuses:

50% more XP from Raid Battles -
