Regigigas Raid Guide: Best Counters & Trio Raid Strategy (June 2025)

Regigigas
Regigigas is a legendary Tier 5 Raid Boss with 55480 CP in Pokémon GO, and is considered to be a relatively difficult fight with a possible trio. Best Regigigas counters are strong Fighting types, because as a Normal type it only has a single weakness. Regigigas is boosted by Partly Cloudy weather. Shiny Regigigas is catchable from Pokémon GO raids.
Regigigas 100% IV Catch CP is 2483 CP non-weather boosted, and 3104 CP Partly Cloudy weather boosted. Regigigas can be caught in the following Combat Power range:
- From 2389 CP to 2483 CP (Level 20)
- From 2987 CP to 3104 CP (Level 25, Partly Cloudy weather)
In this guide, we will cover the best Regigigas counters, go over its stats and moves, and demonstrate how to perform a Regigigas trio Raid. We recommend fighting Regigigas with a minimum of 3 Trainers with perfect counters, or 5+ Trainers with suboptimal counters.
Best Regigigas Counters
Regigigas is only weak to Fighting-type attacks, which directly impacts the choice of counters. Here are the best counters for Regigigas in Pokémon GO:

The list is topped by strong Fighting-type attackers, which is expected given that Regigigas is only weak to that type. Mega Lucario and Mega Heracross are your best Mega-options, and you always want them on your team, followed by Terrakion, Shadow Annihilape, and Marshadow.
There are other options to pick from – Mega Rayquaza, the new Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta for example – and they perform surprisingly well against most Regigigas’ moves.
However, we recommend you stick with the tried and tested Fighting-types if you can, especially when trying to do a Regigigas trio.
Regigigas Trio Raid Guide
Regigias Trio Raid is not an easy thing to do, as Regigigas has an ridiculously high ATK stat, which means it hits hard and usually knocks out your Pokémon in one hit. Dodging is mandatory, and luckily it is easy, as all of Regigigas charged moves are 1-bar moves.
- Bring a Mega Evolution to a Regigigas Trio Raid! This should go without saying, but a Mega Lucario, Mega Heracross, or Mega Blaziken should always be on your team.
- Terrakion is the best non-Mega counter you can pick, with supreme damage, but there are others which work as well. Be vary of Shadow Pokémon like Shadow Machamp and Shadow Conkeldurr – despite high DPS they will be OHKO-ed if you don’t dodge
- Anything with Crush Grip is the most difficult moveset to face against. The real danger with Regigigas is actually getting hit, so try to avoid that!
- Cloudy weather is the best weather for a Regigigas trio attempt, Partly Cloudy is the worst as it boost Normal type attacks
How counters are calculated
Our Regigigas counters are solely derived from simulations run on the GO Hub Simulator. Simulations are always based on level 40 Pokémon against a Tier 5 raid boss, averaging all move sets and simulating lag and rejoining. Results will vary for different raid boss move sets.
The lower you go on the list, the weaker the counters, and the more overall players you will need to take Regigigas down. Remember to use your best Pokémon first, and that reviving that team is usually better than a B team, especially in close conditions.

- Zen Headbutt hurts the fighting types that you are going up against this boss with. It has two STAB moves now, but with them being Normal type moves, they won’t deal super effective damage against any Pokémon.
- Giga Impact has a massive base power of 200, paired with STAB, making that a pretty powerful move to go up against! Luckily, none of the charges will be hitting Fighting types super-effectively.
- Crush Grip is very similar to Giga Impact, but it deals 210 damage and has a scray fast animation duration of 1.8s (compared to 4.5s on Giga Impact). Hard to dodge, but luckily still costs 100 Energy like other Regigigas moves
Regigigas Raid Weather Influence
The weather has a huge influence on battle, try challenging Regigigas in Cloudy weather for a easier battle!

| Partly Cloudy | – | Boosts Regigigas’s Giga Impact and Crush Grip |
