Celebrate 9 years of Pokémon GO with the 9th Anniversary Party! The 9th Anniversary event is a global, free-to-play event, that takes place from July 1 to July 6, 2025. It features features boosted Shiny odds for Pikachu and Eevee wearing hats, the shiny debut of Gimmighoul, a special Gimmighoul holding a 9th anniversary coin, and the debut of Ivysaur and Venusaur wearing party hats. This guide lists all the bonuses, wild encounters, raids, and shiny-boosted Pokémon you can encounter during the 9th anniversary event.

The 9th Anniversary Pokémon GO event runs from July 1 to July 6, 2025. It includes global bonuses, Shiny boosts, and a host of bonuses.

For $4.99 (or the equivalent pricing in your local currency), you’ll be able to pick up a Masterwork Research story, Wish Granted, which leads to an encounter with Shiny Jirachi*!

Jirachi

Ticket holders will gain access to the Masterwork Research story during the 9th Anniversary Event. To receive it you must open Pokémon GO at some point during the event. You can then complete it at your own leisure, as it does not expire!

Trainers who purchase the Masterwork Research, or who have previously purchased the Masterwork Research: Wish Granted, can also enjoy the following bonuses during the anniversary event:

The fourth stage of Shiny Jirachi Masterwork research requires you to get 1 Lucky Pokémon from Trading. Trainers cannot influence the chance of getting a Lucky Pokémon, so the only thing you can do is to Trade until it happens. Additionally, you need to perform 385 Excellent throws. Good luck!

Stage 5/6 of Wish Granted requires you to catch 1000 Pokémon, making this a difficult grind that will span over weeks and months to come. Be sure to use the Quick catch trick method and just play actively every day. This stage rewards an encounter with Shiny Jirachi.
