The Might and Mastery Season enters its final week as May draws to a close, and kicks off the start of GO Fest season! But this week is no slouch either, with some crazy good events taking place.
Get ready for Urshifu in GO Battle Week: Final Strike, the debut of Gigantamax Rillaboom and increased shiny chances to encounter Munna and Morelull! With Mega Altaria and Tapu Bulu back in Raids, strong Spotlight and Raid Hours, something for everyone!

GO Battle Week: Final Strike
Urshifu is coming to Pokémon GO, during the Final Strike GO Battle Week event, which takes place from Wednesday, May 21, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Alongside Urshifu, there are several featured Raid Bosses, the final stage of the Might & Mastery Season-Long Special Research unlocks, and more!
Serene Retreat Event
During Pokémon GO Fest: Osaka, Japan, a global, free-to-play, event called Serene Retreat will take place. Serene Retreat brings an increased chance to encounter Shiny Munna and Shiny Morelull, but also the debut of Gigantamax Rillaboom!
Pokémon GO Fest: Osaka, Japan
Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Osaka is a three-day in-person event available to Trainers in Osaka, Japan, from May 29 – June 1, 2025 with the event running from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm local time on both days. Shiny Carbink and Frigibax debut, along with Volcanion!
Spotlight Hour
On Tuesday, May 29th, from 6 PM to 7 PM local time, Golett will be the featured Pokémon for Spotlight Hour, along with 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon!

Raid Hour
On Wednesday, May 28th, from 6 PM to 7 PM local time, Tapu Bulu will be the featured Pokémon for Raid Hour!
Five-Star Raids
From May 25th to June 3rd, Tapu Bulu will appear in the five-star raids.

Mega Raids
From May 25th to June 3rd, Mega Altaria will appear in Mega Raids.

Shadow Raids
One-star and three-star Shadow Raids will be available daily, while five-star Shadow Raids will take place on Saturdays and Sundays unless otherwise noted. Also, Shadow Regirock will swoop into five-star Shadow Raids during Might & Mastery! You may even encounter a Shiny Shadow Regirock—if you’re lucky!
Max Mondays
On Monday, May 26th, from 6 PM to 7 PM local time, Dynamax Rookidee will appear in Max Battles! D-Max Corviknight is a monster in some fights, so be sure to take advantage of this opportunity!

Might and Mastery Season Long Free Special Research
Available to claim from Wednesday, March 5, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 9:59 a.m. local time, you’ll encounter Dynamax Kubfu and more with this Season’s Special Research!
New parts of the Special Research will unlock over the course of the Season, so make sure to keep an eye on your research tab.
Might and Mastery Power Up Ticket
Starting May 1, 2025, Trainers will be able to purchase the brand new Power Up Ticket for May in the latest Season of Pokémon GO, Season of Might and Mastery.
This ticket will help Trainers to get the most out of Season of Might and Mastery by granting bonuses such as one additional Candy XL awarded to Trainers level 31 and up for completing Raid Battles and Max Battles!
For US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access bonuses and Timed Research opportunities throughout May.
GO Battle League Season 22
GO Battle League: Might and Mastery begins Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8).
The following will occur at the beginning of the Season:
- End-of-Season rewards will be available on the Battle screen.
- Your GO Battle League rank will be reset.
- Rank-up requirements will remain the same as the prior Season.

Season of Might and Mastery
The following bonuses are specific to the Season of Might and Mastery:

Increased friendship bonus damage dealt by Pokémon in raids. -
Trainers level 31 and above will receive one guaranteed Rare Candy XL when defeating a five-star Raid Boss during a Raid Hour. -
Trainers level 31 and above will receive one guaranteed Candy XL when trading Pokémon. -
Increased Stardust for the first catch of the day.
Season of Might and Mastery Breakthrough
Encounter Pokémon by completing the Research Breakthrough! Complete Field Research to unlock Research Breakthrough encounters with one of the following Pokémon:
A note on Seasonal Field Research tasks
During the Season of Might and Mastery, most Field Research tasks will be available during the entire Season, instead of changing every month. Field Research tasks that award an encounter with Spinda will still rotate monthly. Field Research available during in-game events will replace some of these Field Research tasks.
